March 30, 2015 (Newtown, CT) We are thrilled to announce the Inaugural Newtown Film Fest will take place in Newtown, Connecticut this September 18th20th, 2015. A collection of familyfriendly, feelgood feature films, shorts, student shorts, and documentaries will take over the Edmond Town Hall Theatre for this threeday event.
The Newtown Film Fest (NFF) was the brainchild of Newtown native and frequenter of the film festival circuit, Cristin Carlin. “I’m so excited to be bringing this event to my hometown, which never ceased to nurture my creative spirit growing up,” said Executive Director Carlin. “I hope this festival will inspire a whole new generation of artists to go out and create something they love.”
The festival will screen a combination of features and shorts at Edmond Town Hall Theatre throughout the three days. Also included will be filmoriented workshops, panels, and activities that promote the family and educational side of film. If you, or someone you know is interested in showcasing your work at NFF, we highly encourage local filmmakers. NFF is now accepting submissions through our website http://www.newtownfilmfest.com.
All films must be original content and suitable for allaudiences. The objective of the festival is to bring the community together through family and youthoriented films. The selected films will fit the theme of being family friendly and nonviolent. This festival hopes to promote the idea that stories can be told without excessive violence and explicit material by focusing on the nature of good will.
It is a labor of love bringing this festival to Newtown and we strive to make it as much of a community event as possible, so we are in search of local businesses that are interested in partnering with NFF to help sponsor food, drink, or special giveaways. If you are interested in being a part of this special event, please send a detailed email to [email protected], titled Sponsorship Inquiry.
